Trans and Intersex Pride Dublin set out to reclaim the city’s streets for the 2025 march, calling for trans liberation and bodily autonomy for intersex people. The annual event took place on Saturday, July 12, when participants marched across the Irish capital to protest against the rise of the far-right and the state of trans healthcare in Ireland.

Study reveals ‘significant disparities’ for intersex people. New data reveals that intersex individuals are much more likely to experience harassment, bullying, mental ill health and attain a lower level of education. Researchers from the University of Exeter Business School used socioeconomic and health data from a nationally representative survey of 44,000 people living in Mexico between 2021 and 2022, including from around 600 intersex respondents.

New TransActual report finds trans and intersex people facing rise in discrimination after Supreme Court ruling. Following the controversial For Women Scotland vs The Scottish Ministers Supreme Court ruling in April 2025, new evidence from the TransActual report, Trans Segregation in Practice, has revealed that trans, cisgender, and intersex individuals are facing job loss, violence, exclusion, and harassment since the ruling.

Many intersex people in Europe still subjected to conversion practices. Around one-third of intersex people in Europe (34%) reported having been physically or sexually assaulted in the five years before the survey was conducted, which is a sharp increase from 2019 (22%). This rate is three times higher than the figure for LGBTIQ people overall.

Australia passed a motion that could put an end to unnecessary and harmful surgical interventions for intersex Australians. The Australian Medical Association (AMA) has passed a motion at its National Conference that recognises innate variations of sex characteristics “as natural variations in humans”. It also calls for the deferral of all non-urgent medical and surgical interventions for people who can’t give consent.

ZIMBABWE has launched a legal reform process aimed at recognising and protecting the rights of intersex persons in line with international human rights standards and national development goals. Speaking at the Intersex Stakeholders Meeting, permanent secretary in the Ministry of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, Mrs Vimbai Nyemba, said the initiative supported President Mnangagwa’s vision of leaving no one

Approximately 8 Percent of New Yorkers Identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or Questioning, Intersex and Asexual (LGBTQIA+). The New York State Department of Health today released a new Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) brief providing insight into the sexual orientation and gender identity of New Yorkers. The report provides important information that allows the State to better understand Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer or Questioning, Intersex and Asexual (LGBTQIA+) communities, their health needs and the health disparities historically faced by these groups.

U.S. Olympic Officials Bans Transgender Women From Women’s Competitions. The USOPC made a quiet but game-changing policy update that effectively bans transgender women from competing in women’s Olympic sports. Per the policy, all athletes not meeting eligibility for the women’s category — including transgender women, transgender men, nonbinary individuals, and intersex athletes — shall be classified under the men’s category.

Cuba Greenlights Gender Change Based on Personal Request. Cuban Parliament gave the green light to the Civil Registry Law, a comprehensive regulation that permits individuals to change their gender identity upon personal request. The new Civil Registry Law introduces a set of rights and responsibilities for individuals, with one of its most groundbreaking features being the inclusion of gender changes and identity modifications.

Hospital de Clínicas launches policy for care of trans, transvestite, intersex and non-binary patients. The Diversity and Humanization Working Group, responsible for implementing the comprehensive care policy for trans, transvestite, intersex, and non-binary patients at Unicamp’s Hospital de Clínicas (HC), would begin training reception staff in August, including the use of the patient’s social name and pronoun of choice by the HC staff at all stages of care, as well as accommodation in a gender-appropriate room and the assessment of each case by the responsible medical team to ensure comfort, safety, and continuity of care.
