Intersex Asia (IA) is recruiting Consultant Designer(s) to adapt local content layout for Asian Intersex Statement. This is an amazing opportunity to work with inspiring intersex leaders, activists, and organizations in Asia.

Position: Consultant to adapt local content layout
Location: Home-based (Remote working)
Report to: Communication Officer of Intersex Asia (IA)
Contract period: 60 Days (tentative)

About the role

The hired consultant(s) is to assist with the layout of the local language text of the Asian Intersex Statement into 16-pages pre-designed templates. This project aims to make crucial information accessible to a wider audience in various Asian languages. The primary objective of this assignment is to accurately lay out the provided local language content into existing design templates, ensuring the readability and understandability of the translated text. Intersex Asia will provide the local content and design templates. The planned languages are:

  • Bangla
  • Bahasa
  • Hindi
  • Japanese
  • Khmer
  • Tagalog
  • Korean
  • Malay
  • Tamil
  • Thai
  • Urdu

Key Responsibility

The consultancy will involve the following key activities.

  • Content Review: Proofread the provided local language content to ensure its readability, grammatical correctness, and overall understandability within the context of the subject matter. The designer should flag any ambiguities or errors to Intersex Asia for clarification.
  • Layout Implementation: Accurately insert and format the approved local language content into the design templates provided by Intersex Asia. This includes adhering to styles, sizes, color schemes, and image placements as specified in the templates.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct a thorough review of the final layouts to ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to all design guidelines before submission.

Academic profile, experiences, skills

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  •  Proven experience in graphic design and layout, with a strong portfolio showcasing similar work.
  •  Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, or equivalent).
  •  Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for design aesthetics.
  •  Excellent proofreading skills and a good understanding of grammatical structures in the local languages being worked on and preferably as the mother language (Please specify which language when applying).
  •  Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  •  Prior experience working with NGOs or on human rights-related content is a plus.
