Over 55 pc of LGBTQI+ youth in Nepal face barriers to mental health care. Save the Children’s research report, Healing the Rainbow: Bridging Mental Health Gaps for LGBTQI+ Children and Youth in Nepal and Bhutan, reveals alarming levels of mental health challenges faced by LGBTQI+ children and youth in both countries. The research was launched at The International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, and Intersex Association (ILGA) Asia Conference, happening in Kathmandu, said the organization in a press release.

Asia Intersex News Quarter 1 - 2025 4

Counting intersex births: Tamil Nadu blazes a trail. The Tamil Nadu government disclosed 40 recorded births of intersex infants across the 38 districts in the state. This data resulted from efforts by diverse intersex persons in the State led by “Mx Vino Dhan”, a Dalit and disabled intersex activist from Coimbatore.

Run for awareness of intersex children. The event was organised by Fight and Fly Sports Academy, Tiruchi. Divided into four categories, the run was held for 8 km, 6 km, 4 km, and 2 km for the age groups above 18, under 18, under 15, and under 11, respectively, to raise awareness about the plight of intersex babies and children and advocate for their rights and dignity.
